10th Year Anniversary EDGE Awards Banquet, Were October 6, 2011
City of Farmington Mayor Tommy Roberts hosted the 10th Annual EDGE Awards Banquet at San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center. The winners of this year's award are Automation-X and Envirotech--congratulations!

The Invocation given by Senator William Sharer. Mayor Scott Eckstein, City of Bloomfield lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. A special musical number was presented by David Collins. Our Keynote Speaker was Barbara Brazil, Deputy Secretary, of New Mexico Economic Development Department.

What is the EDGE Award?
The San Juan Economic Development Service created the San Juan EDGE Award to recognize companies that lead the way toward a better economic future for San Juan County, New Mexico.

Eligible businesses include those headquartered in San Juan County, as well as those headquartered elsewhere which provide significant local employment and other economic benefits within the county.


Purpose of the EDGE Award:

  • To recognize businesses for positive contributions to San Juan County's economy.
  • To promote the kinds of business enterprises that help grow San Juan County's economic base.

The San Juan EDGE Award is presented annually in September to one or more companies located in San Juan County, for excellence in one or more of the following categories:

Export Category: A business that contributes to the county's economic base by producing goods or services locally for export outside the region.

Economic Wage Category: A business that contributes to the county's economic base by creating local jobs that pay above-average wages.

Import Substitution Category: A business that contributes to the county's economic base by producing goods or services for local consumption that would otherwise be imported into the region.

Leadership Category: A business that demonstrates local leadership through its performance in business ethics, customer service or corporate citizenship.
