BP America San Juan Performance Unit South has been in San Juan County since the 1950's in oil and gas production. Their Environmental Management System is ISO 14,000 Certified, and they value their long-term partnership with San Juan College School of Energy. Recently BP's donation helped to create a new program with the School of Energy to help educate students through well simulation animation. This creative approach safely brings the field into the classroom, to better prepare future field workers for their jobs.

Corporate giving at the local level is guided by a committee of employees who decide where that budget will be applied. The Matching Program gives dollars to match those that an employee gives, or a dollar amount to match the hours that an employee volunteers. They are also active in the McCormick Elementary School Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
